Empower people to lead healthy and prosperous lives
Young Girl’s Project
Stifford Girls Project
Stifford Girls Project works with young girls aged 13-19 from Tower Hamlets who are disadvantaged, socially excluded and facing barriers to accessing services. East Girls Project works directly with teenage girls in an informal setting on their physical, social, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing as key focuses areas to their personal development. Many young people are not always fortunate to have adults whom they can trust, relate to or confide in therefore East Girls Project have experienced qualified female youth workers who are able to cater to needs.
Statistics have shown that Tower Hamlets has a high teenage pregnancy and abortion rates which is a cause for concern for parents and the wider community alike. These statistics evidence reasons why Stifford Girls Project is a much needed service provider to address needs and provide access points for assistance.
We provide a safe space for young girls to socialise, voice their opinion, gain new skills, access services and offer guidance and support through one-to-one mentoring. Furthermore, we also offer volunteering opportunities for young people and accredited training which benefits participants professionally in further education and future career prospects.
Stifford GirlsProject runs its session every Saturday from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at our centre throughout the year (excluding public holidays).
Sessions are delivered from Stifford Community Centre unless the activity is not centre based.
There are various activities, workshops and accredited learning taking place designed to up skill young females.
During the Holiday periods the project operates extended opening hours to deliver holiday activities.
